The now infamous President's Daily Brief (PDB) for August 6, 2001
I posted this below, but I realized that this deserved to get more attention: White House Releases Pre- 9/11 Intel Memo - April 10, 2004
, the now infamous President's Daily Brief (PDB) for August 6, 2001. After reading the PDB, ask yourself if you think Baby Bush should have done more. I mean more than go on vacation for a month. I don't think the briefing tells you that there's going to be a terrorist event on 9/11, but than, I don't think most terrorist groups call ahead. They claim responsibility after the act, they don't make reservations. My thinking is that, yeah, more could have been done. For instance, telling the Air Force to be on high alert, maybe. Or maybe telling the FAA that they should warn air port security providers around the country. And, since the briefing specifically states that terrorist are in the US, maybe telling the FBI to look for them, and the INS to search their records. I don't know, but maybe something more than playing cowboy on his dude ranch for a month.
Come to think of it, Baby Bush in a cowboy hat reminds me more of Billy Crystal at the start of the movie [City Slickers (1991)
] than any other western movie star. Well, I mean the inept part, not honesty and sincerity Crystal character possessed.
